About Chopper
I bought my first Harley at the age of 14, I was working summers at Cole's Yamaha shop in Brighton Michigan, changing tires, cleaning bikes, etc. when I peeped in a old shed behind the shop and saw a 1948 Harley Hummer covered in a thick layer of dust, well old Hap Cole caught me eye balling it one day and told me if I wanted it, it was mine for $60.00 and I could work it off around the shop, well that's when my love affair began with Harley Davidson and I haven't been without one since.
My name Chopper was given to me by a biker named Animal, when I was 15. I grew up in Detroit partying with local bike clubs and started buying up old Harley's I found in farm houses, basket cases, etc. for $100.00 or $150.00 and first thing I would do is rip off bags, windshields, anything that was not needed for the bike to operate. I figured if anyone wanted a windshield they would drive their car. That's why Animal gave me the name of Chopper. I destroyed more classic motorcycles then Satan he used to tell me. But he rode a 1948 chopped down Indian himself. In 1993 I had my name legally changed to Chopper in Fairbanks Alaska, no last name just Chopper. It has been a life long dream of mine to have a fuel tank that never runs dry and a big hill in front of me, just so I could see what was on the other side. I am a Certified HD Master Technician. I enjoy electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting and have Power Commander, EFI Race Tuner and Digital Technician experience.
I have set up a couple of 250 dynamometers at two different Dealerships and have had about ten years experience on them as well as training in Milwaukee and in house training from Matt Gross of MMG Management.
I was employed as lead tech and then Service Manager for seven years at a Harley Davidson Stealership in Pocatello Idaho. I could not swollow the company moto "if the customer does not complain about the price you"re not charging enough" so I am a unemployed bum again with hopes of opening my own shop this spring.
Shop oppened 9/1/2010 :) Now self employed :) :) :) :)
