Last bunch of pictures for you guys....thanks for the kind words and believe it or not it really did feel safe. There were a few places where you could see extreme poverty and yet the people were still gracious and polite.
I wouldn't want to visit a poverty stricken neighborhood in America to see if it feels that way.

Now this is the Yucatan Peninsula which is quite different from the "central mainland" where they are having all of the Cartel issues

Here are some pics of the small towns we drove through. Really more or less just a few houses along the road next to the speed bumps they placed every few miles

Tulum is the only Sea side Mayan ruins...I think they are the most beautiful too

These last few pics are of us swimming in a Cenote. This one was particularly neat because the tour took us through a series of caves and tunnels that led quite a ways back from the entrance....lots of bats in there too
