    Oil leak

So when I get done with a ride recently, I've notice oil spots on the garage floor. When I inspect the under belly of the bike the class 3 leak is coming from this bolt. (see attached). Before I go to the mechanic and get bad info I'm reaching out to trusted agents/independent opinions.

Just wondering if you cold remove the bolt and put a nylon washer and than torque as needed. Part store will have options, 8 or 10 mm , May be a low cost way to stop the leak.

I know this is a dumb question but have you tried tightening it up.

Ran into a similar situation on the old Ironhead Sportster, and lightly coated the threads of the bolt with Permatex#1 .. Never leaked again .. Would just be sure that the threads are not damaged ..

The only dumb question is the one you did not ask...

I had an oil leak last year in what looks like almost the same location. Took it to the dealer (warranty) and it turned out to be the boot for the stator.

So I finally had the leak look into. It was the stator plug that was leaking. Dealership had to pull the inner/outer primary apart to replace it. Cost was around $600. They cut me a little off that for loyalty but expensive none the less.
