It's time that I introduced Bruiser!

I had a thread when I found my beloved Bruiser over at the XLF, but after photobucket screwed over the internet, I had to go back and repair the photo links. In doing so, I realized I really wanted to share this journey with my HDT family. I'll date the old posts, and catch ya'll up on the journey that began with a Craigslist add over a year ago. Stay tuned, I'll catch you up on a year's worth of posts.

So,I came across a deal on an 89. 883 "punched out to a 1200" as the young man said.

Obviously, he was no mechanic, as he couldn't answer much more than basic stuff. But it had a title, it did crank (although it ran rough) and it didn't take more than that to convince me the price was right and drove 3 hours to pick it up. Now it's home, and I've made room in the garage.

This thing needs a lot of TLC. I have a lot of crap to un-crap. The main reason I got it cheap, was that it had broken a head bolt (it was hard to decipher what the kid was trying to describe on the phone) But I figured it out real quick

So I'll tear into it, and start repairing the multitude of previous owner brain farts. Like the controls

He was kind enough to leave me the bandanas that were holding the turn signals on.

He had also installed led lights under the gas tank, bless his heart. I ripped those off pretty quick.

Decided I'm going to need a new battery. Looks like the ears were broken off and they tapped the posts to make a riding lawn mower battery work or something stupid like that.
