    Two killed in motorcycle crash:

This happened Sunday about two or three blocks west of our house, hate to see stuff like this. News like this makes me set back and re-evaluate my riding skills. Sometimes I'm guilty of being complacent and when I read accident reports wherein a rider loses control on a curve it causes me to be extra vigilant. I was not acquainted with these two but it still hit home and caused me to think back of my historical narrow escapes. Ride safe brothers.

A 33-year-old Redding man and his 36-year-old passenger have been identified as the victims of a Sunday motorcycle crash north of town.

Lt. Gene Randall said 33-year-old Jesse Lee Quaid died at the scene of the afternoon crash near Keswick Dam Boulevard and Quartz Hill Road, while passenger Kristionna Anne Quaid died at Mercy Medical Center from injuries linked to the crash.

The Quaids' relationship was not immediately clear.

California Highway Patrol officers are still investigating the crash. They've said the driver of a sport utility vehicle hit the motorcycle when Jesse Quaid lost control going through a curve.

Yes, this sucks. Read about it all too often, just had another one here. Same scenario I had, only he wasnít so lucky. A man took a left hand turn in front of a guy who had the right away. He died at the scene, 54 years old. Stay aware and assume youíre invisible, cannot be too safe.

Scary because we see it almost on a daily bases here in the Phoenix area, and it does make you more vigilant but is always a sad thing when you see a fellow biker down.

Unfortunately this will continue to happen. l've been way too hot into a curve two-up and it was pucker time for sure. l was in a big hurry and l learned a lesson that it is easy to override your and/or the bikes limits.
My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Ain't that the truth, and it's always when you least expect it.
