    Taking 2-1 off

I put a Phytom 2-1 on the 1996 Fb to make mounting the sidecar easier. The Python was the only mistake we made install the car. It sucked. loud and not a good loud sounded like chit. IF I ever try a 2-1 again it will be a Super tarp or Hd version of it.
Sidecar is staying on the Street so off comes the 2-1. This morning Grandson will under instruction remove the 2-1 and install the original exhaust system.
Excited to hear the wonder sound that bike once had again .
Should be straight forward job for him On the softail everything is in the open and easy to get at.
The Python system is to big for the Bad Idea box. It will instead hang on the wall of shame. Pictures to follow for those that are interested.

He done good for a 9 year old. Wiping off WD 40 used to lose thing up , getting up under it to get the bolts out. Taking the 2-1 off is easy . Putting stock system back on it a bit more invoked.
We had to run in to HD and get a new gasket and washer for the cross over pipe. They had it in stock. All back on now we just returned form a test ride. Great to have it back sounding like it should.

That’s a shame it didn’t work out but you never know to you try something.

I do not know why it is I like this old FB so much. It vibrates , it is not fast. It rides good it sits great and sounds the way a bike should as it came from HD. We really enjoyed the test ride yesterday.
This is a picture of how it looks with stock exhaust.

Never been a fan of Pythons .. For 2:1 Super Trapp is an excellent choice .. Also like the Pro Pipe like I have and love the sound of the Thunderheader except it sits a bit too low for my liking of the lean in the curves ..
