Sorry this happened, but Iím glad the outcome was not worse than it was. I can relate to what youíre talking about coming to a sudden stop at 45 mph, itís not fun. Not preaching, but sure glad you had your protective gear on.

I've been absent for awhile (hospital stuff) and just turned the computer on...was really shocked to see this. Jay, I'm so happy that this thread didn't say that brother Jay T-boned a mail truck and broke his neck...it could have been so much worse. Prayers that your pain will subside soon, if there is anything you need that I can provide, don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you my friend, will update a ssoon as I know anything worth passing on .. Back Home and once again up in the wee hours with pain, but definitely on the mend , just not quick enough .. Click here to enlarge Plan on talking to my local insurance agent today and make it plain no lowball offers will even consider, will give them a few days and if don't hear anything may consult an Attorney .. Absolutely no excuse for this, he came out the Mini Mall Driveway without even stopping to look.. I am assuming he has the old excuse "I didn't see him" and this is a town that has hundreds of Motorcycles at most all times except in the extreme dead of winter .. Didn't even have the Balls to come over and check on me just sat in his Truck like nothing happened ..

Talked to my Local Insurance Agent today but basically they the told the Agent for Allstate in Franklin will pretty much be the one to talk to about anything .. Talked to an Independent Damage Specialist today and said can't be sure until they pull the Fairing and check close to Frame damage, then it's totaled, But will have a better look, but there was no question everything up front would be replaced .. Forks, Triple Tree, Head Bearings, Front Fender, Wheel, etc .. That alone is 5,000+ so much more and will reach the Total Stage.. 50% of the Market Value and Becomes a Total which is 16,000 ..

More than likely have hired a Local Attorney for the NC Area .. He is a Rider himself and is not scared to fight the Post Office , has done so before .. There have been several incidents of Postal Drivers causing accidents in this area, 3 with Motorcycles 2 injured very seriously .. I have 3 witnesses that say there is no question he whipped out dead in front of me without even stopping to look and 2 even stated they thought I was dead on such impact .. The Driver was Cited with 2 Violations, Failure to Yield, and Careless Driving.. The Trooper said would have liked to got him for Reckless Driving but no way can prove he had total disregard of anyone's safety or life .. So for my own protection think this is a smart move myself although won't commit until next week after have the Holiday Weekend to think it over which was the Attorneys own suggestion himself .. I am a Pretty Good Judge of Character and after a good Long Conversation with him , I don't think this is an ambulance chaser .. Made it quite clear he is all for going to Court and Fight Like Hell if Necessary to do so .. For any here that may work for the Postal Service please take no offense, I have many friends that do work for them and have safe records of their driving totally accident free for many many Years ..

Jay you need to make sure you take care of you. That attorney is the best thing you have done. When I had my crash in 2015 I tried to be a nice guy and let the insurance companies deal with it but talked with the law tiger law firm but because I wasn't seriously hurt they didn't want to deal with it so I did and really took a beating because of it. Nice guys loose so make sure you take care of you brother.

My Thoughts Exactly Brother .. The Post Office have No Insurance Agent they strictly pay out on their own funding.. But they are also responsible for each and every one of their Employees .. Many Attorneys back away from them because no quick easy settlement from another Insurance Company ..
