    THE FASTEST???

    THE FASTEST?

If I might be so bold as to ask... Is the V-Rod the fasted production made V-Twin motorcycle today? I'm talking a stock V-Rod from the factory.

    Please respond.

Not unless it's black. Black HD's are supposed to be the fastest

The answer is no... There are faster V-Twin bikes out there out of the Japanese big four... Part of the reason is the gearing on the V-Rods... With stock ratio's, the V-Rod will topout at 135 to 140 mph, you can stretch that a bit by upping the rev limit from 9k to 10k... It is the fastest HD but not the fastest V-Twin out there... However, there are V-Rods that are pretty quick Click here to enlarge... There is a difference between fast and quick... V&H has been kick'en the Japanese butts at the drag strips for quite some time but that motor is not your stock off the shelf Revolution motor, it's putting out 360 hp to the rear wheel...

Tim Doherty was building a project bike that his son is going to finish that will hopefully take the speed record away from the Busa's but the Busa is not a V-Twin motor... I prefer to be quick rather than fast... I'm old, my reflexes aren't what they used to be, I'm not in the best of health, so being fast is pretty much out of my book but, I can still be quick in the quarter mile Click here to enlarge... Doesn't take a lot of reflexes to go in a straight line with no intersections Click here to enlarge... Hope this answers your question... Take care... T

Fastest needs to be define top end 1/4 1 mile.
It had been some what agreed they would limit top end on production bikes to avoid international laws regulating them some kind of bent the rules other blew them off.
